Over the holidays, I went to see Jack Reacher. A typical Tom Cruise movie – no not because his character’s name is Jack, but rather for the mystery, fighting, and all around bad a** justice seeker. It starts out with a good perspective building up dramatic irony – no not the discovery that the guy who asks for Jack Reacher by name didn’t kill those people – but the developing plot and twists that truly take you for a ride up until the end.
Obviously, I don’t want to ruin the movie for those of you who are going, but the action is just right, and they were not over doing it. You’d think as Tom Cruise ages, so would his characters, but that is certainly not the case. The plot you would think is relatively straight forward, but where you would think it would be obvious it keeps you guessing. Granted, I am quite good at figuring out what will happen, but even I was caught at a few turns.
Overall- good acting, great action, and great plot. It is a definite go see 🙂
